1st trip to TN to meet Family

Kaylee took her first trip to TN to meet the family as she was 3 weeks old. We first stopped in Knoxville, TN to meet her aunt and uncle (Courtney and Cole Harris) and their newborn, Braden.

Also, she was able to meet her great aunt, Janice Cloud and 2nd cousins, Lindsay & Andrew Dungan.

Next, we went to Kingsport where Kaylee met her Great Grandmother and Grandfather (Mimi & Papaw Chastain) and Great Grandmother (Maw Droke) on Mommy's side of the family.

And, lastly, Kaylee got to meet several Great Aunts (Lou Hawk, Ann Dickson, and Peggy Harvey), 2nd cousins (Jean & Bob Gibson), and her Aunt Sally, Uncle Dan, and 3 cousins (Keadin, Elly, and Marilee Hull). What a fun day!

Week 3

This week, Kaylee started "waking up" a little more. She still sleeps most of the day though. We also gave her her first bottle (still breast-milk) and she has done well so far with going back and forth between mommy and the bottle. She also had several visitors this week. Her growth this week has been minimal though and we are having to watch how much she eats (hence using the bottle to measure) to ensure she gains ~.5 oz a day. On Friday (2/20), Kaylee weighed ~7lbs.

Today, we had our first family picture made. So far, Payson has done well with Kaylee and is already learning her name.

THD welcomes Kaylee

One of the shower gifts that Kaylee received from THD (thanks, Regina!) was an embroidered baby apron. Thanks THD for welcoming Kaylee to the "family"! She "bleeds" orange already (of course for both THD and the Tennessee Vols!)

Valentine's Day Weekend 2009

February 14th was Kaylee's actual due date but we are so glad that she decided to come a couple of weeks early! We had a great weekend - starting out with Professional pictures being made (will post asap) on Saturday (2/14). Then, she spent most of the day on Daddy's chest resting...she seems so peaceful and calm while she is resting with him! We also "got out" for the first time with Kaylee for dinner as we went over to the Thompson's to eat Moe's and hang out for a bit. Lastly, Kaylee enjoyed her first feeding with Daddy as he fed her for the first time out of a bottle (as Mommy learned to use her pump to gain some freedom!).





On Sunday, Daddy spent his first couple of hours alone with Kaylee while Mommy went to the gym and then to run some errands. Kaylee he enjoyed her swing for the first time today. She was pretty tired today and slept well after her bath - she snuggled with Payson and then with Mommy for quite a while before actually going to bed. It was a great Valentine's day weekend!

Scalini's Baby!

Kaylee is a Scalini's baby. We went to eat dinner on Saturday, 1/31, at Scalini's (an Italian restaurant in Atlanta) which is known for their eggplant parmigian putting women into labor. Within an hour and a half after eating dinner, my water broke and I went into labor. I am not 100% convinced it was the eggplant as I was having stronger contractions than my normal braxton-hicks ones but who knows...Kaylee was born the next day. So, we got to have Kaylee's picture on the "Baby Wall" at Scalini's and got a $25 gift card to eat there.

Kaylee met several friends and family the past few weeks. She has not done much except sleep and eat (and of course use the potty!) all week. Pictures are below:
